July 27, 2014 Bass: Bass are moving into shallow places and in the grass. Use jigs and flukes around piers and in the grass lines. Black and blue are always good. Spinner baits and buzz baits are still good around the mouths of different creeks. Use white with chart. Use crank baits in the heat of the day on main river points around ledges. Frogs are also good in the late afternoons close to the weed beds.
Crappie: Crappie are moving out deeper since the water is getting warmer. Some are being caught around 10 feet in the early morning and late at night. Try tree stickups and summerged tree tops. Use minnows for the best results.
23.86 lbs. caught on a crank bait
The new boat ramp is complete. 4 boats can launch at the same time. The parking lot, new pier and weigh-in station will be complete at a later date.
